Solo travel: my back story.

So why solo travel? Well, it’s personal but here goes.

Just over two years ago my husband died. The years leading up to his death were very difficult. The last really good year we had together we spent traveling Europe while homeschooling our youngest. We bopped from country to country in a VW pop-up. Kind of “The Drifters” with kids. Yes, we loved to travel.

In the years since his passing, I have struggled to get back the life I had — the one I expected to be living at this point in time. Then I had a minor break-through. Instead of adjusting my life to expectations, I had to adjust my expectations to my life — at least somewhat. So now…

…I embrace my solo status and travel solo. I think about it, act on it and write about it in my blog: http://solotravelerblog.com

I traveled solo in my 20’s and I’m doing it again.
